European Gaming has highlighted three emerging development studios from across the continent as key players shaping the future of online gaming.

The Estonia-based outlet points to Amusnet Interactive, Kalamba Games, and Peter & Son as examples of a wider shift toward newer, more agile creators within the industry.

Europe’s New Wave of Developers

Amusnet Interactive was founded in Bulgaria in 2016 under the name EGT Interactive. The studio grew steadily over the past decade and, by 2022, reported a catalog of more than 300 games.

The company rebranded to Amusnet Interactive in March 2022. The move marked a shift from its earlier focus on classic slots toward a broader portfolio that now includes live casino, keno, and lottery products.

Kalamba Games, which operates between Kraków and Malta, has taken a more data-driven route.

Central to its operations is the Bullseye platform, a proprietary system that provides real-time data tracking, promotional tools, and payer engagement functions.

Through Bullseye, casino operators can launch targeted campaigns, analyze player behaviour, and adjust promotional triggers instantly.

In early 2025, Kalamba announced a distribution agreement with Eurobet in Italy, expanding the reach of its games to one of Europe’s largest markets. The partnership followed earlier integrations across several European operators using the Bullseye platform.

The final name on European Gaming’s list, Peter & Son, stands apart for its unique style.

Founded in 2019 with offices in Barcelona and Yerevan, the studio develops video slots and, more recently, scratch-card games designed in HTML5 for global distribution. It has more than 45 titles licensed in over 15 jurisdictions and integrated into around 200 casino platforms.

The company has been expanding steadily across European regulated markets. In October 2025, it signed a partnership with Danish operator Spillehallen to introduce its catalog in Denmark, following earlier launches in the UK, Italy, and the Netherlands.

Other developers, like Soft2Bet partnering with Amusnet, also target European markets, demonstrating their promising iGaming potential.

Growing Momentum in Europe’s iGaming Market

The progress of emerging online-focused studios coincides with a wider trend in Europe as online gaming is expanding its market share.

The latest figures from the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) show that in 2024, online operations accounted for 29% of the continent’s total gross gaming revenue, up from 37% the year before.

Total online revenue also rose to almost €48 billion, compared with €75.5 billion generated from land-based gaming. While traditional revenues still dominate in absolute figures, their overall share dropped from 63% to 61% in the same period.

Europe’s online gaming market continues to grow

Online gaming continues to claim a larger share of Europe’s gambling revenue each year.

Maarten Maijer, secretary general of the EGBA, said data shows how the iGaming sector continues to gain momentum alongside broader changes in consumer habits.

While land-based gambling remains dominant and continues to grow in absolute terms, online channels are showing stronger momentum, driven by changing consumer preferences and technological advancement.

He also outlined the group’s promising outlook for the coming years:

Looking ahead to 2025, we expect online gambling to cross the significant 40% market share milestone, with this trend projected to continue in the coming years as online gambling is expected to approach parity with land-based gambling by 2029.
