BITKRAFT Forecasts 3X Growth to $7.7B for India’s Gaming Market by FY2030
A new report by Redseer Strategy Consultants and BITKRAFT Ventures, a reputable global investment platform for gaming and interactive entertainment, forecasts threefold growth in India’s gaming and interactive media market.
As of FY2025, this sector accounts for $2.4 billion and is expected to reach $7.7 billion by FY2030. “The Gaming and Interactive Media Opportunity in India” report reveals that the gaming and interactive media sector is expanding 1.5 times faster than the digital media and entertainment market in general.
This massive growth is fueled by a huge and young user base, nano transactions, and a focus on personalized and interactive content. As of now, there are over 835 million Internet users in this country, averaging at 29 years old. This promising landscape paves the way for gaming and interactive media to bloom in the next few years.
The Resilience of Casual Gaming
The report reflects India’s current digital ecosystem, with regulatory updates that open the door to casual gaming and esports content.
Despite the online money gaming (RMG) concerns and the ban on real-money gaming, digital gaming is set to generate $4.5 billion by FY2030, double the current value. Meanwhile, esports is projected to triple, contributing $120 million to the market by that time.
The Battle Royale genre remains the main source of monetization. Hybrid Casual, inheriting the Mid-core game-like progression from the original format with more profound meta systems, is gaining traction.
In-app purchases (IAPs) are forecasted to outpace ads in the next 5 years, with a sixfold growth.

The gaming and interactive media market is a booming industry in India
The Rise of Interactive Media
The market size of innovative segments in interactive media is predicted to grow from $440 million in FY2025 to $3.2 billion by FY2030.
Sectors, like Micro Drama, Astro & Devotional Tech, and Audio Streaming, are poised for massive growth. According to the BITKRAFT report, the Micro Drama segment, focusing on short-form and mobile-first videos, is forecasted to hit $1.1 billion by FY2030.
Meanwhile, Astro & Devotional Tech and Audio Streaming are expected to reach $1.3 billion and $300 million by FY2030, respectively.
India’s Potential for Growth
The ‘Bharat’ audience is the main drive behind that impressive growth. These users look for new platforms for social connection, and gaming communities are a great hub for social identity. AI emerges as an effective tool to cut down content creation costs and facilitate localizing content.
Jens Hilgers, Founding General Partner at BITKRAFT Ventures, describes India as a “true global powerhouse for interactive entertainment.”
India represents perhaps the most compelling greenfield opportunity globally. The confluence of a digitally native youth demographic, established mobile infrastructure, and massive scale is creating what we believe to be a hyper-growth environment.
Anuj Tandon, Partner, India & UAE at BITKRAFT Ventures, added:
We’re witnessing strong momentum across casual and hybrid-core titles, fueled by rising player engagement, new IP creation, and increasingly accessible payment ecosystems. Together, these factors are helping define the next chapter of India’s gaming and interactive media industry.
