Games Global Making Significant Job Cuts
Games Global has announced it is making job cuts as part of a company restructuring move.
The company, which has more than 1,300 proprietary games under its umbrella after experiencing rapid expansion in recent years, is now having to make major cutbacks.
Having been established in 2022, it did not take long at all for Games Global to become a major player in the world of iGaming, but the company is moving into the next phase of its future.
Games Global employs an estimated 1,000 people in offices located all over the world, though that number is set to drop as a result of a round of redundancies that are now taking place.
In a statement that was provided to NEXT.io on October 24, Games Global said that the job cuts are coming as a result of a ”global review of operations aimed at enhancing efficiency”. Games Global also explained that it is “aligning its structure toward future priorities and growth”.
The statement added:
As part of this review, the business has made the decision to streamline the size of its global workforce, in response to both evolving technology efficiencies and the scale at which it has grown over the past four years.
While these decisions have been difficult, they are essential to ensuring long-term competitiveness and ability to invest in sustainable innovation.
Proactive Steps
According to the Games Global chief executive Walter Bugno, the job cuts as part of the company restructuring is necessary for the future of the business.
He said in a statement:
This restructuring is a proactive step to ensure Games Global remains well positioned to meet the evolving needs of our customers, capitalise on emerging market opportunities, and maintain a strong focus on investment in innovation.
Job losses have already begun with senior figures at Games Global among those to be moving on. Games Global’s director of global people, Charlotte Davies, confirmed her departure in a post on social media site LinkedIn and many others are now expected to be following suit.
Games Global had been expected to launch an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange last year, but the company rolled back its plans with industry experts suggesting it was due to a lack of investor interest. Reports said the firm could have been valued by the IPO at over $2 billion.

Dozens of Games Global staff could lose their jobs due to the restructuring
Job Losses Confirmed On Isle Of Man
Like a lot of the big iGaming companies, Games Global has a base on the Isle of Man.
The Isle of Man’s Department for Enterprise has confirmed that some of the job losses taking place at Games Global will be on the island at its headquarters on Circular Road in Douglas.
A statement from the Department for Enterprise sent to Manx Radio said:
The Department for Enterprise is aware that Games Global has recently undertaken a global review of operations which has resulted in the displacement of a number of positions within their Isle of Man office.
The Department understands this decision reflects efforts to enhance efficiency and align structures toward future growth, and has been done across its global operations, and is therefore not unique to the Isle of Man office.
Bugno set up Games Global using his experience as a former executive at Lottomatica and IGT, with the casino technology supplier founded by buying up Microgaming’s distribution arm.
